These presentations are adaptable for all clinical providers in gynecologic care including abortion care, obstetric providers doulas, nurses, and students of all professions. Depending on the scope of the inquiry, the presentations can be modified between one and three hours in length. All presentations are queer inclusive, align with reproductive justice frameworks, and challenge the medical hierarchical status quo. Case studies will be tailored to the audience.
Trauma-Informed Pelvic Care
In-depth discussion of historical foundations and current practice of trauma in healthcare, how to modify individual practice to be trauma-informed and trauma-responsive, and example scripting for a safe and empowered pelvic exam in gynecologic and obstetric settings.
Sex Positivity in Clinical Practice
Review of history of sex positivity movement, its application to clinical practice, and how to become a sex positive provider, even when a client discusses something outside of the standard knowledge base.
Consent in Pelvic Care
Conversation around dynamics of consent in clinical practice, with attention to busy clinics and hospital settings and optimizing the ability to integrate an ideal consent process into every interaction.
Individual and Small Group Training
Trauma-Informed Pelvic Care*
A six-hour personalized course to delve into individual and organizational trauma-informed and trauma-responsive strategies. Includes specific clinical practice changes to be integrated into inpatient and outpatient settings, and ten case studies to provide opportunities for example scripting for a safe and empowered pelvic exam in any gynecologic and/or obstetric setting.
