Birth

Today I supported a student midwife in the beautiful birth of a baby en caul. And as the mother pushed at her own pace, with lots of time to watch and witness, it occurred to me how much the bag, with its floating vernix, and the baby's head full of hair, looked like the views of the world from space. And, really, isn't that exactly what is happening?Birth.
