I am running for Secretary of the ACNM Board of Directors, as is another great candidate, and there are also elections for President-Elect, Region II Representative, Region V Representative, and Nominating Committee. Check out all of the candidates here!My intention in running for leadership is to bring forward the work of supporting student-to-graduate transition, utilizing social and new media platforms to mobilize these groups and the people we serve, as well as promoting the work of midwifery care in underserved populations. And, obviously, feminism, reproductive justice, international midwifery, etc. - pretty much everything I write about on this site is part and parcel of my soap box :)You know you want to vote, right? Here's the trick - to be a voting member, first and foremost, your membership must be active as of December 19th. You have one more day to ensure that your membership is active and that you can vote in the election this Spring. New graduates who are considering membership, keep in mind that in your first year of practice, membership fees are reduced! Find out more here. To ensure your membership is active, login on the www.midwife.org (top right corner of the webpage, grey box that says "Member Login"). Then choose "My Profile," and in the first few paragraphs of text will be information on your current status. Renew your membership today if it has elapsed!
