Birth H

Her epidural provides no pain relief whatsoever, and she is angry. She can't believe she is somehow still in labor, and the contractions "just won't quit." Here since last evening, blood pressures a little elevated for everyone's comfort, and slight augmentation from the night shift has her labor really rolling. We had barely met each other this morning, as in-between contractions I tried to provide solace. She was working through them on her own, a method unknown to others in the room besides knowing she needed space. She has a sudden increase in pressure, and when I check her I notice how swollen she is. An anterior lip disappears as soon as I touch it, and her baby is born rapidly into my arms, immediately bright pink and crying. Placed on mom's abdomen, that baby couldn't get to the breast fast enough.Birth.
