To triage in active labor. With one VBAC already successful, she was well on her way to a second.Her labor was moving much more quickly than she would have wanted. She desperately wants pain medication before the baby comes, but the baby is already coming.In between her seeming to feel out of control, she seemed incredibly in control. Each contraction brought a new wave of yelling and shaking her head, and then she grabbed a hold of it and glared, staring at some unforeseen destination behind all of us, all the while pushing with strength she knew she had.And then, the baby was in her arms. She seemed again both in control and out of control. But she is really the only one who could tell any of us that, and she was distracted by her beautiful baby.Birth.
